The core principle for selecting the appropriate pressure gauge accuracy level for a specific application scenario is to "meet measurement needs while considering both cost-effectiveness and environmental adaptability." This avoids unnecessary cost increases due to blindly pursuing high accuracy and prevents data distortion or safety hazards caused by insufficient accuracy.
Clearly Define Core Measurement Requirements
Determine the Measurement Purpose
Qualitative Monitoring: Only requires determining whether pressure is "present" or "within a safe range," such as pressure monitoring in heating pipes or household water purifiers. A Class 2.5 general-purpose pressure gauge is sufficient to meet basic needs.
Quantitative Control: Requires precise pressure values for process adjustment, such as in injection molding machine hydraulic systems or chemical reactor pressure control. A Class 1.6 (industrial general-purpose) or Class 1.0 (higher requirements) pressure gauge is recommended.
Metrological Calibration: Used as a standard instrument to calibrate other pressure gauges, or for scientific experiments and precision testing, a precision pressure gauge of Class 0.4 or higher is required. A Class 0.02 reference standard pressure gauge can be used for the highest accuracy.
